Falstaff is such a popular, colourful character and his negative traits of old, fat, lazy, selfish, thieving, manipulative, corrupt, boastful, lecherous and a drunkard don’t seem to put people off.
" Have you not a moist eye, a dry hand, a yellow cheek, a white beard, a decreasing leg, an increasing belly? Is not your voice broken, your wind short and every part of you blasted with antiquity and yet you call yourself young???"
Romeo & Juliet

I painted Romeo and Juliet in a simple surreal set to depict their love for each other, never to be alone in death but always together.

The idea for Ceasar came from an old school doodle I have been drawing for years, a bit like Asterix and Obelix but there is a poignant look in his eyes as his whole world is about to collapse.
